Camp SAFARI is a full day school-age child care program for youth entering kindergarten through 4th grade. The philosophy of Camp SAFARI is to lead children to discover friendship, independence and confidence through art, music, sports, drama and recreational activities. The staff and program facilitates a warm and secure environment for channeling children's energy and meeting their individual needs. Camp SAFARI is located in the following buildings this year: Ridgeview Elementary and Valley View Elementary. A breakfast snack and afternoon snack and many fun activities including field trips are part of your tuition. Lunch will be available at Valley View Elementary as that site qualifies for the Summer Feed Program through the state. Students attending Ridgeview Elementary will need to bring a bag lunch with a beverage. Summit SAFARI is for students entering 5th and 6th grades offering new and fresh opportunities that are geared for this age. We will have leadership opportunities, community service and so much more. Our Early Learners Academy is currently full. Anyone registering at this time will be placed on a waitlist. Early Learners Academy is an early education experience for three, four, or five-year old children. It is designed to meet the needs of working families who need full-day child care and desire a Kindergarten readiness experience. If more than one class would work for your child, please list a second or third option on your contract, to improve your chances of getting an available seat. We fill seats on a first come, first served basis with families that have completed all of the required paperwork and enrollments. Children must have be FOUR years old as of September 1st, 2022 in order to attend 22-23 Preschool for Four's. Starting preschool is an exciting milestone in your child’s life. The bloomington preschool program is committed to preparing your child for success in kindergarten and beyond! Our licensed teachers set up classrooms to help children discover a love for learning while working on social emotional skills that will help get them ready for lifelong learning. The year before kindergarten is an exciting time, as your child’s abilities and independence grow by leaps and bounds! Preschool classes focus on providing a foundation for lifelong learning and to help create social relationships. Children have both large and small group learning experiences in literacy, writing, math, music, art, and science. We offer Preschool for Four's 5 days per week (M-F) for 2.5 hours at Pond and Southwood Centers and for those who live in the attendance areas of Indian Mounds, Oak Grove, Valley View, and Washburn Elementary. To receive busing to Indian Mounds, Oak Grove, Valley View, and Washburn you MUST live or have a daycare address in that school's enrollment area. To receive busing to Pond Center you must live or have daycare address in the Poplar Bridge enrollment area.
