2025 SUMMER SCHOOL FOR PRESCHOOL"READY, SET, KINDERGARTEN!" REGISTRATION BEGAN ON WEDNESDAY, MARCH 12TH, 2025 AND THE REGISTRATION PERIOD HAS NOW ENDED. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN THE PROGRAM.Ready, Set, Kindergarten is a four-week language and literacy-rich preschool experience taught by licensed teachers. Classes will include interactive read alouds, extended conversations, interaction around writing, instruction of letters and sounds and phonemic awareness. Students must be age 5 by September 1, 2025. Transportation will be available. There will be a Meet and Greet for all families attending summer school on Monday, June 9th from 3pm-4:30pm to meet the teaching staff and see the classrooms. Classes will be held June 10th-July 3rd, Monday-Thursday from 9:00-11:30 am at the Pond Center (9600 3rd Ave S). There will be no class held on Thursday, June 19th (Juneteenth). Students must be able to be successful in a 1:10 Teacher-Student ratio setting, there will be no Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) support in the Ready, Set, Kindergarten summer program. Priority will be given to students who are currently attending 2024-25 Bloomington Preschool programs and will be attending Kindergarten with Bloomington Public Schools in 2025-26. 2025-26 Step into Preschool (starts Fall 2025)***Step into Preschool is currently full. To add your child to the waiting list, please complete a registration for your child. You will be contacted by phone and email if a spot becomes available.*** Step into Preschool is a class designed for children who turn 3 after September 1st, 2025. Children will get a taste of what preschool is like in this class. A licensed teacher will provide opportunities for children to work on social emotional, language and literacy skills through read alouds, conversation and singing with friends and adults other than their caregivers. Playtime on the playground and/or in the gym will be included throughout the day. This class is offered for 2 hours, 2 days per week on Monday and Wednesday mornings from 9:45-11:45am. Registrations will be processed in the order in which they are received based on your child's date of birth. Children MUST be 3 years old and potty trained before attending class. Parents have the option to attend a parent education session monthly while their student is in class. Sliding fee scale applies. This class will be billed monthly. 3D Printing: Design, Build, Race!SLAMGr 4-8 Start your engines and your imagination! In this hands-on 3D printing camp, students explore how engineers design, test, and improve vehicles. Campers will create two types of cars—a self-powered car using stored mechanical energy and a DC motor–powered car—while learning the basics of 3D modeling, motion, energy, and aerodynamics. 3D Printing: Nintendo-Themed CharactersSLAMGr. 1-5. Bring your favorite video game worlds to life by creating Nintendo-inspired characters with TinkerCAD while learning essential 3D design skills. Students will model unique creations in three dimensions, experiment with shapes and structures, and transform their digital ideas into real objects using 3D printers. While prints are finishing, campers can join Nintendo-themed challenges and even design their own video games inspired by the characters they love. Each student will have two small printed projects sent home. Printing and material fees are included. Bring a USB drive on the last day.
